Shanna Maria Oswald

Shanna Maria Oswald, Ruth, joined the angels on April 25, 2021 at the age of 51. She was born on August 30, 1969 to the late Raymond and Helen Oswald of Minden City.     

Shanna beat the odds by living a full, happy life.  She faced adversity every day, fighting to prove to everyone that if you could do it, so could she.  No matter her mood she always had a giant smile and an even bigger hug for everyone she met.  Her kindness shone through every small act she shared.  Everyone that knows Shanna has a special story of her true happiness and unending love.

Shanna graduated from the Huron Learning Center in 1994.  She participated in Michigan Special Olympics for numerous years.  She loved bowling, circle a word puzzles, and playing cards, especially go fish.  Every night she looked for the full moon gaining great pleasure when she seen it. Her favorite things to watch were The Golden Girls, Mom, the Dukes of Hazzard, WWE Wrestling, Days of our Lives, and The Waltons. 

Shanna is survived by many family members that loved her very much: sister Bernadette (Ken) Schumacher of South Bend, Indiana; and brothers Rick (Ronda) Oswald of Minden City; Douglas (Tracy) Oswald of Essexville and numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great niece and nephews.

Shanna was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents Ray and Helen, two brothers Robert and Rodney, two nephews Joseph and Robbie and numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial service to celebrate Shanna’s life will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Francis Lautner Memorial Park in Minden City.  Anyone wishing to honor Shanna’s memory is asked to donate to the Michigan Special Olympics.
