Robert Charles Erdman

Mr. Robert Charles Erdman, 91 of Ubly, passed away Friday morning, March 19, 2021 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.

            He was born on January 26, 1930 in Minden City to the late Arthur and Esther (Klaus) Erdman. He married Iris Will on February 20, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach. She preceded him in death on December 16, 1983. Robert married Janice (Trepkoski) Essenmacher on June 22, 1986 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.

            Robert was a graduate of the Minden City High School. He farmed with his family all his life, until he retired in 1996. He spent his winters in Haines City, Florida.  He was a delegate of the Michigan Milk Producers Association for many years. Robert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville and was on the Church Board as well as a trustee. He was a member of the Delaware Township Board for 8 years. Robert enjoyed many things in life. He likes sports and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. He enjoyed hunting with family and friends, playing Euchre and golfing. Robert truly cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.

            Robert is survived by his wife, Janice of Ubly; his children, Thomas (Janice) Erdman of Vassar, Michael (Vicky) Erdman of Minden City, Lisa (Jay) Barsaleau of Livonia, Jeffery (Kathleen) Erdman of Cadillac, Amy (Joshua) Stern of Sandusky; one step-daughter, Lori (Tony) Woznicki of Royal Oak, one step-son, Brian Essenmacher of Lewiston, one step-daughter-in-law, Kim Essenmacher of Rochester Hills; 25 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Plavion Erdman of Saginaw.

            He was preceded in death by one brother, James Erdman; one granddaughter, Deanna Barsaleau.

            The funeral service for Robert will be Monday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Pastor Henry Hales will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

            Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:00-10:45 a.m.
