Mrs. Marie B. Peruski, 84 of Ubly, passed away Monday morning, September 18, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Cass City while under hospice care.
Marie was born May 15, 1939 at home in Sanilac County to the late Clemens and Margaret “Margie” (Kucharczyk) Danielski. She met the love of her life at a high school dance. She married Raymond Peruski on October 4, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. After 55 years of marriage he preceded her in death on February 21, 2014.
Marie was a 1957 graduate of Ubly High School. She enjoyed performing in the Alabama Jubilee celebrations. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. She was an active member of the Good Shepherd Christian Mothers. She was employed at Ubly High School as a cook for 10 years. Marie enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, books, walks with friends, playing cards, casino trips and crocheting.
Marie is survived by one son, Derek of Ubly; one daughter, Andrea (Richard) Fox of Cass City; one sister, Rose Maikrzek of Ubly; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Peruski of Ubly, Hilda Peruski of Lapeer; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, The Golden Girls.
In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by daughter, Darla; sister, Betty Kolar; brothers-in-law, Melvin Peruski, Ernie Peruski, Richard Maikrzek, Wes Irons, Carl Kolar; sister-in-law, Evelyn Irons.
Mass for Christian burial for Marie will be 11:00 am, Friday, September 22 at St. John Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. Rev. Nate Harburg, pastor, will officiate. Marie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Raymond, in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Ubly.
Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 2:00-9:00 and Friday from 10:00-10:45 am at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary recited Thursday at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
