Lorne A. Warczinsky

Mr. Lorne A. Warczinsky, 77, of Minden City passed away on Sunday April 18, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw after a short illness.

Lorne was born on October 14, 1943 to the late Arnold and Margaret (Turk) Warczinsky.  He was a lifelong resident of Delaware Township.  Lorne began his education in country schools and graduated from Deckerville High School with the Class of 1961.

He married Marilyn Hartsell on January 29, 1972 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palms, Michigan.

Lorne spent over 40 years with Interlake Steamship Company sailing the Great Lakes and retired as Chief Engineer from the M/V Paul R. Tregurtha. Upon retirement he was inducted into the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum. He was a lifelong member at St. John's Lutheran Church and served many roles from treasurer to cemetery committee. In his youth, Lorne farmed with horses to recently operating equipment with autosteer. Lorne was a humble, mild mannered man with a good sense of humor. He cherished his time with his wife, kids and grandkids.  Lorne looked forward to attending his grandkids activities.  Lorne enjoyed a friendly game of cards.  Throughout his life, he valued faith, family and friends.

Lorne is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Minden City; his daughter, Caren (Scott) Puvalowski of Ubly; his son, Steve (Denise) Warczinsky of Minden City; grandchildren Melanie, Ashley and Courtney Puvalowski, Isaac and Samantha Warczinsky; his sisters, Ruth Warczinsky of Bay City and Alice Warczinsky of Deckerville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Carl) Reisner, Barb (Elgin) Hill and Mark (Dawn) Hartsell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Janice, and his in-laws Forrest and Marian Hartsell.

The funeral service for Lorne will be 11:00 am Friday, April 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minden City. Pastor Henry Hales will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Palms.

Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Friday from 10:00-10:45 am at Trinity Lutheran Church.
