Donald Jerome Stacer

Mr. Donald J. Stacer, 67, of Deckerville, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

            He was born on August 12, 1951 in Harbor Beach to Merlin and Magdalene (Holdwick) Stacer. He married Jo Ann Peruski on July 20, 1973 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms.

            Don was a 1970 graduate of Harbor Beach High School. He worked at Midwest Rubber for several years.  He was employed at Vibracoustic (Trelleborg) for 39 years, retiring in 2016. Don enjoyed turkey hunting, putzing around in his garage, camping, wood working and geocaching.

            Don is survived by his wife of 45 wonderful years, Jo Ann of Deckerville; one son, Christopher and his wife, Melinda of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Melissa Stacer and her husband, David Thomas of Mt. Vernon, IN; one grandson, Ian Stacer; his mother, Magdalene Stacer; three siblings, Richard (Cathy) Stacer of Ubly, Sally (Marvin) Lamke of Ruth, David (Denise) Stacer of Salem, MI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eric Goebel of Bad Axe, Jane Vogel of Deckerville, Judy (Richard) Harter of Deckerville, and Elmer Peruski of Palms.

            Don was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Goebel; father, Merlin Stacer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Isabel Peruski, one brother-in-law, Charles Vogel; and two sisters-in–law, Violet Peruski and Irene Walling.

            A memorial Mass for Don will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 17 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Palms. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor will officiate.  Visitation with Don’s family will be on Saturday from 10:00 am until the mass at 11:00 am.
