Mr. Aloise “Al” B. Puvalowski, 88 of Ubly, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Al was born on September 29, 1929 at home on Finkel Road in Harbor Beach to the late Vincent and Anna (Rumptz) Puvalowski. He married Lottie Knoblock on April 28, 1951 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Port Austin. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2005.

Al attended and graduated from the Kipper Rural School. Al raised and farmed with his family in Ubly, retiring in 1990. In addition to farming, he also worked many places in his life; Carmet, Hamil Manufacturing in both Ubly and Bad Axe, Gemini Transport, Lyntex Manufacturing as one of their drivers, Thumb Area Transit, as a bus driver at the Ubly Community Schools and Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home. Al was one of the original members and former secretary of the Ubly Fox Hunters Club. He was also a member of the Sheridan Knights of Columbus Council #12850.
Al is survived by his children, Darlene (Gary) Klemish of Freeland, Marian (Herb) Volmering of Howell, Lennea (David) Brown of Bad Axe, Rochelle (Ray) McNally of Rockford, Michelle Puvalowski of Sterling Heights; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; son-in-law, Larry (Cindy) Morell of Rose City; daughter-in-law, Loretta (Earl) Kuhn of Bad Axe; his special friend, Mary Jane Longuski of Ubly.
Al was preceded by an infant son, Gerald Michael; one daughter, Debra Morell; two sons, Larry and Dennis Puvalowski; one grandson, Adam Puvalowski; three sisters, Blanche (Syl) Cook, Lucille (Stanley) Grifka, Regina Puvalowski; two brothers, Raymond (Grace) Puvalowski and Oscar (Francis) Puvalowski.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 23 at St. John Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in the spring.
Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 1:00-9:00 pm and Friday at St. John Catholic Church from 10:00-11:00 am. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
