Mr. Eugene E. Peruski, 90 of Minden City, passed away Wednesday evening, January 24, 2018 at the Huron Medical Center. He was born on September 17, 1927 in Minden City to the late Enoch and Rose (Miller) Peruski. He married Genevieve Schramski on June 27, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dwight. Eugene was a graduate of the Minden City High School. He then ventured to Detroit to work for a few years before being drafted into the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a dedicated farmer all his life and was president of the local chapter of the National Farmers Organization for about 5 years. While farming, Eugene was also employed at Tower in Elkton. He was the former president of Minden Oil and Gas for 20 years. He was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville where he was a member of the St. Isidore Men’s Club and an usher for 50 years. Eugene was a member and former officer of the Parisville VFW Post. Eugene is survived by his wife of 64 years, Genevieve Peruski of Minden City; two sons, Glenn (Patricia) Peruski of Minden City, Carl (Charlene) Peruski of Minden City; three grandchildren, Ryan Peruski, Justin (Kayla) Peruski, Tyler Peruski; 1 great grandson, Brody Peruski; step grandchildren, Hank (Jessica) Metzger, Jessica Howell; 2 step great grandchildren, Zoey Metzger and Avery Bock; one sister, Virginia Miller; four brothers, Daniel (Betty) Peruski, Leroy (Mary Lou) Peruski, James (Cecilia) Peruski, Jerome (Cathy) Peruski; one brother-in-law, Joseph Schramski; one sister-in-law, Martha Semran. He was preceded in death by one son, Dale Peruski; one daughter, Rose Mary Peruski; sister, Annette Niemoth; eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 27 at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville with military honors. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor of Good Shepherd Parish of Ubly, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. There will be a rosary by the St. Isidore Men’s Club Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
