Mrs. Johanna R. Oborski, formerly of Ruth, MI, longtime resident of Ft. Meade, FL and current resident of Brighton, took her last cruise to meet our Lord on January 1, 2018. She was one of eight children, born to Lucas and Anna Priemer of Harbor Beach. She married John J. Oborski in 1964 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1994. Johanna resided in Eastpointe and spent weekends at the cottage on Lake Huron before moving to Harbor Beach. She was a woman of many talents, artist, quilter, 4-H leader, church lector and was very active in her community, no matter where she lived. She also travelled extensively with family and friends. Johanna is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Zinger) Vandenberg and her husband, Paul of Brighton; her son, Joseph Zinger of Idaho; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Glaza. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Monica Mattock, son, Robert Zinger; sisters, Winnie Sofka, Rita A. Oberski, Colletta Mageslski, Dolores Higgins; two brothers, Eugene and Joseph Priemer. Mass of Christian burial will be 12 noon, Saturday, January 6 at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish, Parisville. Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville on Saturday, January 6 from 10:00 am until the mass at 12 noon. Memorials have been requested to Heart to Heart Hospice.
