Raymond "Ray" Joseph Puvalowski

Mr. Raymond (Ray) J. Puvalowski, 70 of Ruth passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak after a short illness with his family by his side. Ray was born on January 22, 1947 in Sigel Township, son of the late Frank and Sylvia (Pawlowski) Puvalowski. He married Joyce Kirsch on October 17, 1970 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helena. Ray was a 1965 graduate of Ubly Community School. He was a long time dairy and crop farmer. Ray was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville where he was an usher and a member of the St. Isidore Men’s Club. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. He loved crop tours, Polish music and cherished time with his loving grandchildren. Ray is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce of Ruth; four children, Gregory of Royal Oak, Michael (Margaret) of Royal Oak, Nancy (Brian) Franzel of Bad Axe and Julie (Robert) Grifka of Ubly; six grandchildren, Brayden, Collin, and Blake Franzel, Claire and Ella Grifka, Nicole Puvalowski; three brothers, Leonard (Pat), Eugene (JoAnn) and Bob; two sisters, Eleanor (Norman) Messing, Beatrice (Richard) Tschirhart; two sisters-in-law, Betty Puvalowski and Roxanne Puvalowski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Linda) Kirsch, Delores (Ken) Arndt, Linda Kirsch, Karen Kirsch Golob; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Joseph in 1973, son Kevin in 1990; one sister, JoAnn Puvalowski, four brothers, Bernard, Jerome and infants, John and Joseph; in-laws, Ken Kirsch, Don Kirsch, Eugene & Marlene Gosdzinski. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 28 at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 2:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10:00-11:00 am. There will be a St. Isidore Men’s Club rosary Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm and a parish vigil service at 7:30 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund or Muscular Dystrophy.
