Mrs. Dorothy M. Oswald, 86 of Ruth and formerly of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the McLaren Port Huron Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home on May 7, 1930 in Sherman Township to the late Frank and Rose (Lautner) Klee. She married Cline “Ozzie” Oswald on February 26, 1949 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1994. Dorothy was a parishioner of Holy Apostles Parish, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth where she was chosen for the honor of Mama Ruth in 1995. She enjoyed baking, canning and quilting. She was loved by her grandchildren and cherished every minute they spent together. Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Linda Splan of Croswell, Joyce (Roy) Rodriguez of Ft. Gratiot, Dianne Teigeler and her significant other, Charles Duckworth of Lexington, Marjorie (Harold) Kulman of Port Huron, Nancy (Ron) Gilbert of Smith Creek; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel; seven brothers, Leo, Charles, Lawrence, Marcus “Bud”, Edward, Frank & George Klee; three sisters, Mary Booms, Helen Nickel and Irene Dore; one son-in-law, Frank Splan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Wednesday, May 3 at Holy Apostles Parish, Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Ruth, Rev. Christopher Coman, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City on Tuesday from 2-8 pm and Wednesday from 10-11 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Church only.
