Mr. William J. Beauchamp, 91 of Palms, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at United Hospice Service in Marlette. He was born on July 31, 1925 in Stockbridge to the late Edwin and Emma (Detgen) Beauchamp. He married Elizabeth Hoga on December 14, 1946 in Ohio. William was a WWII Navy veteran. He retired as Lieutenant of the Detroit Fire Department after 26 years of service from 1945 to 1971. William was raised in Port Hope. Later in life, he resided in Palms 47 years and farmed there for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved anything outdoors. William is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Elizabeth of Palms; two daughters, Nancy Teske and her husband, Walter of Ludington, Katherine Beauchamp of Norton Shores; one son, George Beauchamp and his wife, Patricia of Carsonville; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one brother, George Maher of Lapeer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard & James Maher. The funeral service for William will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Rev. Richard G. Wilson, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am.
