Mrs. Helen May Reiche, 94 of Minden City, passed away Friday morning, March 3, 2017 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe while under hospice care. She was born on March 21, 1922 in White Rock, daughter of the late William and Florence (Linley) Fritzsche. She married Elmer Reiche on March 1, 1941at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Detroit. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2007. Helen attended the White Rock School. She was a farmhouse wife and mother. Helen served on the Delaware Township Election Committee as an inspector for 20 years. She bowled for the Minden Farmers Elevator team for 20 years. Helen enjoyed growing flowers and gardening, canning, cooking and was an avid card player, especially euchre. Helen is survived by her dear friends, Mike and Sherry Messing, along with their children, Laura (Brad) Janks and Jessica (Jared) Tenbusch, their children, Olivia, Avery, Emma and Amelia; grandson Jeff (Belle) Woodward, two granddaughters, Sheri (Josh) Sigafoose and Jennifer Cunningham and their families. Along with her parents and husband, Helen was met at heaven’s gates by four infant children, son, David, daughter, Norma Woodward; brother, Harold Fritzsche; sister, Genevieve Martin; family friend, Amanda (Messing) Spencer. The funeral service for Helen will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City. Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery in Harbor Beach. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the service at 1:00 pm. Memorials have been requested to Deckerville Hospital or Courtney Manor.
