Mr. George P. Gosdzinski, 87 of Brooklyn, MI and formerly of Ruth, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence while under hospice care. George was born on February 24, 1929 in Tyre to the late Leo and Edna (Kulish) Gosdzinski. He married Patricia Tuchelski in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1985. George then married Mildred Lamke Michalski on July 14, 2001. George graduated from the Tyre country school. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Garden City and well as a lifelong member of the American Legion in Garden City. George owned and operated a gas station and wrecker service in Garden City. George liked to play cards, hunt and go dancing. He loved life at the lake for big parties with family and friends that he cherished so much. George is survived by his wife, Mildred “Millie” Gosdzinski of Brooklyn; two sons, Mark (Kathy) Gosdzinski of Westland, Keith (Karen) Gosdzinski of Livonia; three grandchildren, David (Lica) Gosdzinski of Texas, Meghan Gosdzinski of Texas and Sarah Gosdzinski of Westland; one sister, Marie Zurek of Novi; one brother-in-law, Roger (Melody) Lamke of Davison; three sisters-in-law, Ann Marie (Ken) Lasceski of Sebewaing, Darlene (Mike) Rumptz of Argyle, Darlene (Dan) Paul of Sterling Heights; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernadette Benson and his twin, Genevieve Gosdzinski; five brothers, Alfred, Joseph, Leonard, Harold and Virgil Gosdzinski; two step sisters, Eleanor Williams and Dolores Carney; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Cartier and Sylvester Zurek. The memorial service for George will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 15 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
