Mrs. Gertrude Oberski, 102 of Parisville, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Huron County Medical Care while under hospice care. She was born October 13, 1913 in Seigel Township to the late Frank and Bernice (Duda) Kucharczyk. She married Albert Oberski on October 20, 1934 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1997. Gertrude was a graduate of a country school. She lived in Parisville since 1934. She farmed with her husband for about 40 years. Gertrude truly enjoyed spending time with her family. Gertrude is survived by 2 sons, Elmer Oberski and his wife, Karen of Almont, Calvin Oberski and his wife, Luann of Parisville; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Oberski, Rita Cook, Edith Cook and Minnie Cook. She was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters, Grace and Lorraine; 7 brothers, William, Clemens, Gordon, Phillip, Carl, Walter and Albert; one sister, Angeline Grifka. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church of St. Isidore Parish in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 3:00-8:30 pm and Friday at St. Mary Church from 10:00 am until the mass at 11:00 am. There will be a joint rosary Thursday evening at 7:00 pm by the St. Isidore Rosary Sodality and Men’s Club.
