Mrs. Shirley A. Booms, 78 , of Harbor Beach, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, July 18, 2016. She passed away at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe surrounded by family. Shirley was born on February 22, 1938 in Harbor Beach to the late Jacob and Mary (Siemen) Roberts. She was united in marriage to Eugene Booms on January 21, 1956 in Ruth. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2012. Shirley was a graduate of a country school. She worked on the family farm and for Dian’s Catering. She was a parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Shirley was always proud of her garden and always had something cooking in the kitchen. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her loving family, Bernadette Roggenbuck and her husband, Terry of Harbor Beach, Margie Booms and her husband, Wayne of South Bend, IN, Daniel Booms and his wife, Kim of Harbor Beach, Andrew Booms and his wife Dawn of Harbor Beach, Joan Particka and her husband, Tim of Ubly; 8 grandchildren, Ryan Roggenbuck, Andrea Lobert, Sarah Edgell, Stephanie Booms-Alentado, MD, Elizabeth Booms, Hannah Booms, Shannon Particka, Rebecca Particka; 6 great grandchildren, William and Nathan Roggenbuck, Gabriel and Reese Lobert, Brayden and Grayson Edgell; 3 sisters, Agnes Petruck and her husband, Joe of Arkansas, Gladys Page and her husband, Joseph of Davison, Bernice Messing of Sandusky; any nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by infant children, John, Linda, Darlene, Rita and two baby boys; one grandson, Eric, eight sisters, Mary Hartman, Annie Winkel, Genevieve Talaski Dahlke, Rosie Anstett, Joyce Pleiness, June Pawloski, infant twins Evelyn and Adalyn Roberts; four brothers, Jim, Jerome, Vincent and Bernard Roberts. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July, 22 at 2:00 pm at Holy Apostle Parish, Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Ruth. Rev. Christopher Coman, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Ruth. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00-2:00 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Church only. Memorials have been requested to East Huron Ambulance Service, Harbor Beach Hospital or Courtney Manor.
