Irvine J. Kuntze

Mr. Irvine J. Kuntze, 73 of Bad Axe, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw. He was born on September 13, 1941 in Bad Axe to the late Earl Frederick and Genevieve (Mausolf) Kuntze. He married Mary Ann Streussnig on March 3, 1962 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon. Irvine resided in Huron County all his life. He was a 1959 graduate of Bad Axe High School. He worked as a machinist for several years before becoming a truck driver. Irvine drove for several companies including Vollmer Redi Mix, McCrea Farms and Agri Sales. He finished his trucking career with ADM, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Rapson Moose Lodge. Irvine enjoyed lawn work, auctions, wine making, bird watching and puzzles. He cherished time spent visiting with family and friends. Irvine is survived by three children, Juliana Lautner and her husband, Timothy of Snover, Amy Lou McCrea and her husband, Russell of Cass City, Vincent Kuntze and his wife, Tracy of Bad Axe; six grandchildren, Shauna (John), Jason (Aimee), Austin (Toria), Molly (Zack), Shelby, Vincent Jr.; 3 great grandchildren, Gage, Larkin and Hailee; two sisters, Lavonne Stapleton and Audrey Osentoski. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tina Marie and his brother, Richard. The funeral service for Irvine will be 5:00 pm, Saturday, July 25 at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Pastor James Palaszeski, pastor of the Ubly Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the service at 5:00 pm. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
