Reva Marie Silver

Mrs. Reva Marie Silver, 95 of Cass City and formerly of Ubly passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City. She was born on January 2, 1920 in Niagara Falls, Ontario to the late Alma “Mike” and Gertrude (Harriott) Davis. She married George Clifford Silver on August 30, 1940 in Ubly. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1957. Reva was a graduate of the Apin Country School. She lived and worked on the family farm until she married George and they moved to Essexville. Reva worked at Prestolight in Bay City during World War II. She and George then moved to Cass City. Reva began working at Hills and Dales Hospital in 1960 and was the executive housekeeper until she retired in 1983. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing cards, especially euchre. Reva also enjoyed sewing and made quilts for all of her grandchildren. Reva is survived by three children, Richard Silver and his wife, Mary of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Barbara Danby and her husband, David of Tuscon, Arizona, Larry Silver and his wife, Donna of Clinton Twp.; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Wills of Bad Axe. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Danby, one brother, Richard Davis; her special friend, Grant McKee. The funeral service for Reva will be 11:00 am Friday, January 9 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Rev. Phil Burkett of the Cass City Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Elkland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Thursday from 3:00-8:00 pm and Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 am. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
