Mrs. Marie A. Lang, 82 of China Twp. and formerly of Palms, Matriarch of the Lang family, died Friday September 12, 2014 at St. John River District Hospital. She was born on October 23, 1931 at home in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Tenbusch) Booms. She married Donald B. Lang on April 29, 1950 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2010. Marie attended grade school at Sherman Township No, 1 and graduated from the eighth grade at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School. She worked at and retired from Midwest Rubber Company after 30 years of service. She was parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. Marie is survived by her children, Donna Leppek of China Twp., Wayne Lang of Ubly, Karen (Leo) Naracon of Sandusky, Lucinda (James) Kincaid of Lexington, Patricia (Lee) Wendt of Gaines, Norman (Lisa) Lang of Sandusky, Joanne (Mark) Schwab of Smiths Creek; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; five sisters, Beatrice Bishop of Memphis, Gertrude Salowitz of Palms, Eleanor Wooldridge of East Pointe, Gladys (Ira) Wrubel and Irene (Richard) Lemanski of Harbor Beach; two brothers, Vincent (Bertha) Booms and Angus (Judy) Booms, both of Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald B. Lang in 2010; daughter, Yvonne Rose, 19 month old in 1959; son-in-law, Timothy Hanselman; grandson, Thomas Joseph Wendt; three brothers, Ralph, Melvin and Eugene Booms; one sister, Annabelle Wrubel; four brothers-in-law, Clarence Wooldridge, Bernard Wrubel, William Bishop and Titus Salowitz; one sister-in-law, Esther Booms. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Tuesday September 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of St Isidore Parish. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 2:00-9:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Patrick Church. There will be a rosary recited Monday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
