Mrs. Teresa M. Block, 78 of Bad Axe and formerly of Ruth, passed away unexpectedly Friday August 29, 2014 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. She was born on March 5, 1936 in Argyle to the late Neil and Francee (Hunter) Anglebrant. She married Wilfred R. Block on June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Teresa was a graduate of Sandusky High School. She and her husband resided in Ruth until they moved to Bad Axe in 2007. She had an affinity for baking, crafting and decorating. She was a fun loving woman who enjoyed laughing with friends and family. Teresa was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose heart could warm the coldest days. Now, she is off to a new home and will be greatly missed. Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wilfred Block of Bad Axe; one son, Michael Block and his wife, Renee of Ruth; one grandson, Derek Block of Ruth and his close personal friend, Zachary Proctor; one brother-in-law, Jim Block of Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Pearl Smith, Opal Rowbaghan and Geraldine McPhail; three brothers, Emmit, John and Arle Anglebrant. Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 3 at Sacred Heart Church of St. Hubert Parish. Rev. Robert Howe, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Ruth. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 2:30-9:00 pm and Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church from 12 noon until the mass at 1:00 pm. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Diabetes or Heart Associations.
