Mr. Frank J. Particka, 81 of Ubly, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1932 in Detroit to the late Frank M. and Anna (Goniwicha) Particka. He married Phyllis Sample on October 1, 1960 with whom he had seven children. He then married Donna Hill in Bad Axe in November of 1999. Mr. Particka attended Frieburg County School and Ubly Community School. He served in the Marine Corp from 1954 until 1957. He then farmed the family farm for over 30 years. He worked as a builder, on road construction and finally retired from Gemini Plastics in 2011 after 20 years employment. His true love was searching for treasures, whether at an auction sale or just on the side of the road. Frank is survived by five sons, Timothy (Joan) Particka of Ubly, Steven (Luann) Particka of Sandusky, Douglas (Gwendolyn) Particka of Snover, Frank (Kay) Particka of Ubly, Brian (Tonya) Particka of Saginaw; two daughters, Barbara (Tom) Morefield of Knoxville, TN and Christina (Robert) Henze of Summertown, TN; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Aloysious “Loysi”, Anthony “Tony”, Alexander “Al” and Florian “Floyd”. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 8 at Good Shepherd Parish, St. Ignatius Church in Frieburg with military honors. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 2:00-9:00 pm and Tuesday form 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service on Monday evening at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to Family Discretionary Fund or the donor’s choice.
