Mrs. Elaine Marie Mazure, 60 of Harbor Beach passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. Elaine was born on October 31, 1953 in Elkton, MI to Marjorie “Marge” (Faust) Pawloski and the late Edward Pawloski. She married William “Bill” Mazure on July 17, 1982. Elaine was a graduate of Laker High School. She enjoyed participating in dirt track racing and powder puff demolition derbies. Elaine was a homemaker until her children were grown. She was a server at Verona Hills Golf Club for many years. The last eight years, Elaine was employed at the golden arches and greeted daily coffee and breakfast customers. Elaine enjoyed taking care of and cooking for her family. She enjoyed listening to country and western music, playing euchre and pinochle, hayrides and spending time outdoors. Elaine cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and having “get togethers”. Elaine is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill of Harbor Beach; five children, Lisa Mazure and her significant other, Matthew Cooper of Bad Axe, Derek of Harbor Beach, Michael and his fiancée Ashley Sweeney of Harbor Beach, Kurt and his wife, Melissa, Kristen Mazure, all of Bad Axe; three grandchildren, Danica Cooper, Jolene Zarodkiewicz, Spencer Mazure; her mother, Marge Pawloski of Elkton, two sisters, Lee Ann Cook of Bad Axe, Beverly (Don) Deaton of Howell; two brothers-in-law, Dave (Lorraine) Mazure of Florida, Myron (Suzanna) Mazure of Ubly; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Tom) Laceski of Port Austin, Deb (Fred) Koroleski of Kinde; a very special aunt, Karen (Rick) Larabee of Nevada, her aunt Shirley Faust, two uncles, Lionel Faust of Flint and Ronald Faust; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, one brother-in-law, LaVerne Cook and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Mary Mazure. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church of St. Hubert Parish in Bad Axe. Rev. Robert Howe, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Most Holy Trinity Cemetery of Smith Corners. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Wednesday from 1:30-9:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
