Mrs. Ruth R. Krug, 83 of Ubly, passed away Thursday morning, May 29, 2014 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Ubly to the late Roman and Pauline (Pollum) Briolat. She married Richard Krug on May 15, 1954 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly. Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Ubly High School. She worked various jobs in Warren and was a Parapro with the Macomb ISD for nine years. She was a parishioner at St. Martin De Porres Church in Warren for 29 years. Ruth and Richard moved to Ubly in 1991. She was a parishioner at Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Church in Ubly and an honorary member of the St. John Christian Mothers. Ruth enjoyed golf, bowling, travelling, camping and trips to the casino. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Krug of Ubly; two sons, Gregory and his wife, Florie of Chesterfield Township, Alan and his wife, Kimberly of Port Huron; 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Krug, Nicholas (Cara) Krug, Jessica Krug, Kristie (Ryan) Dobbie, Chelsea Ewart and Shane Ewart; 6 great grandchildren, Noah, Brooklyn, Jaycee and Jaxon Dobbie, Alexander Ferrera, Nolan Rybarczyk; five sisters, Gertrude Glaza of Ubly, Sophie Sawle of Clinton Township, Florence (Frank) Mattis of Dearborn Heights, Martha Krug of Bad Axe, Louise (Ray) Gibson of Ubly; one sister-in-law, Joann Stros and her husband, Richard. Ruth was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Krug, four brothers, Ervin, Stanley, Clemence and Henry Briolat; two sisters, Ann Leppek and Irene Osentoski. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am, Monday June 2 at Good Shepherd Parish, St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Patrick O’ Connor, pastor of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Midland will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in Ubly. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Sunday from 1:00-9:00 pm and Monday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary on Sunday at 4:00 pm and a parish vigil service at 7:00 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to Good Shepherd Parish Building Fund or the donor’s choice.
