Leo Danielski Jr.

Mr. Leo Danielski Jr., 85 of Paris Township, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Courtney Manor Nursing Facility in Bad Axe. He was born on September 10, 1928 in Ubly, son of the late Leo Danielski Sr. and Martha (Zurek) Danielski. He married Jeanette Hammerle on October 20, 1956 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Smith Corners. Leo attended a country school. He farmed with his family all his life and was a centennial farm owner. He retired in 2004. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where he was a member and former officer of the Men’s Club. He was also an usher and past school board member at St. Mary’s. He represented DeKalb Seed Company for many years and was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Leo was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and contributed to the new stadium brick program. He enjoyed playing euchre, dancing and listening to the music of Molly B. and R.F.D. Leo truly cherished visiting with his family and friends. Leo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Danielski of Ubly; five daughters, Belinda Manser and her husband, Jerry of Midland, Karen Snow of Bloomfield Hills, Pamela Gage and her husband, David of Port Austin, Jackie Heintskill and her husband, Edward of Essexville, Christal Rothe and her husband, Dan of Bad Axe; one son, Jeffrey Danielski of Ubly; 10 grandchildren, Stacey (Tim) Handley, Eric (Jackie) Iseler, Jon Manser, Wes (Ellen) Guigar, Jill (Jeramie) Dubs, Jenni (Justin) Koglin, Sarah Heintskill, Paige Heintskill, Kayla Rothe and special friend, Andrew Batzer and Adam Rothe; 7 great grandchildren, Lauryn and Tori Handley, Henry and Zofia Iseler, Charlie and Claire Guigar, Evie Dubs; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Delores Talaski, Mildred (Irvin) O’Parka, Kenneth Hammerle, all of Ruth, Rose (Jerry) Bullock of Ohio, Elaine Varosi of Sandusky, Darlene (Roderick) Gornowicz of Ubly, Gary Hammerle and Wanda of Caro, Elwood (Marlene) Hammerle of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by one brother, Dorian Danielski, two sisters, Beatrice Lamke and Esther Fisher; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Wednesday, February 26 at St. Mary Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 1:30-9:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a joint rosary Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm by the St. Mary Rosary Sodality and the Daughter’s of Isabella Regina Fidelis #608. There will be a Men’s Club rosary Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
