Marie Clor, age 91, of Ubly, formerly of Minden City, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at her residence with family at her side. She was born on December 14, 1921 in Sand Beach Township to the late Theodore and Agnes (Smalla) Puvalowski. Marie and Daniel Clor were united in marriage on June 21, 1939 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach. Together they owned and operated Dan Clor Garage in Minden City for 39 years. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1979. Marie was a lively spirited lady who graduated from Harbor Beach High School. In addition to her career with Dan at their family business, Marie worked for Clements Manufacturing for 12 years and served as the Minden Township Clerk for 16 years. She was a parishioner of St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly and a member of St. John Christian Mothers. She was also a lifetime member of the Rosary Sodality at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Marie was an avid reader and gifted pianist. She enjoyed traveling and was a loyal Detroit Tigers fan. In her later life, she enjoyed crocheting delicate lace doilies. Marie was blessed with seven children: Nancy (Russell) Heilig of Lapeer, Richard (Evelyn) Clor of Otter Lake, Daniel (Theresa) Clor of Medina Ohio, David (Beverly) Clor of Armada, Kathleen (Thomas) Heilig of Otter Lake, Kenneth (Adrianne) Clor of Osseo, Mary (Gerald Grekowicz) Clor of Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; one brother, William (Polly) Puvalowski of Alpena Marie was preceded by an infant sister Cecilia and an infant brother Burton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Wednesday, April 3 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Forestville. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 2-9 pm and Wednesday from 10-11 am at St. John Church only. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary Tuesday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to United Hospice Service of Marlette or St. John’s Church in Ubly.
