Mrs. Mary Jane Grifka, 53, resident of Argyle for the past 35 years, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. She was born on January 8, 1960 in Warren, Michigan to the late Robert F. and Erma F. (Stepka) Osantowski. She married Harry S. Grifka on November 25, 1978 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Mary was a graduate of Madison Heights High School. She enjoyed the outdoors and playing Yahtzee. She loved taking casino trips around the state and was a big Detroit sports fan. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her wonderful grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband of 34 years, Harry of Argyle; two daughters, Melissa Grifka and Amy Grifka, both of Argyle; two sons, Harry M. Grifka of Snover and Matthew Grifka of Bad Axe; 10 grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Theresa (James) Brecht of Madison Heights, Gary (JoAnn) Osantowski of Madison Heights, Doreen (Gary) Bright of Deckerville, Gerald Osantowski of Deckerville, Anthony Osantowski of Madison Heights, Robert Osantowski of Madison Heights, Diane (James) Dixon of Hazel Park, Rose (Claude) Beavers of Madison Heights; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sara Grifka and one brother, Andrew Osantowski. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Saturday, January 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 3-9 pm and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Friday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home.
