Betty Jeanette Peruski

Miss Betty J. Peruski, 77 of Bad Axe and formerly of Parisville, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Betty was born on July 7, 1935 in Paris Township to the late Joseph and Suzanne (Pionk) Peruski. Betty was a 1954 graduate of Ubly High School. She worked as a secretary for Burrough Office Machine Company in Detroit for eight years. She enjoyed providing child care for local families and their children. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. She truly enjoyed and was very involved in the programs and activities at Courtney Manor. She enjoyed watching TV, especially I Love Lucy and visiting with family and friends. Betty is survived by one brother, Alvin Peruski and his wife, Kathleen of Parisville; one sister, Darlene Bailey and her husband, William of Bad Axe; one brother-in-law, Richard Schwartz of Bad Axe; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Schwartz. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Friday, October 5 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 2:00-9:0 0pm and Friday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to Courtney Manor of Bad Axe or St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund.
