Mr. Stanley S. Wrubel, 94 of Harrison Township passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at Martha T. Berry Nursing Home in Mt. Clemens. Stanley was born on September 4, 1917 in Parisville to the late Peter & Frances (Miller) Wrubel. He married Evelyn E. Patterson on September 14, 1940 in Bad Axe. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2005. Stanley was a graduate of a country school. He resided in Huron County until he and his wife moved to Warren in 1943. They lived there until moving to Harrison Township in 1976 and have resided there since. He was a parishioner at St. Herbert Catholic Church in Mt. Clemens. Stanley enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing poker and euchre and visiting with his family. Stanley is survived by his children, Carroll Rogers and her husband, Donald of Roseville, Eric Wrubel and his wife, Lupe, of Texas, Nancy Pizzuti and her husband, Vince of Essex, Ontario, Canada, Richard Wrubel of Florida; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Helen Wrubel. He was preceded in death by one son, LaVerne on June 17, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Thursday, March 22, 2012 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Ignatius Church on Thursday, March 22 from 9:30 am until the mass at 11:00 am. Care has been entrusted to the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
