Mr. Harry Lawrence Osontoski, 81 of Ubly, passed away February 27, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 3, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Floyd and Lucy (Pionk) Osentoski. He married Agnes Noble on April 14, 1956 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. He was a graduate of the Proctor Country School. He farmed with his family. He worked in the Michigan road construction industry as a foreman/heavy machine operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. Harry was co-owner of Ubly Snowmobile Sales & Service (Ski-Doo) from 1969 until he retired earlier this year. He was a co-founder and past member of the Ubly Fox Hunters Club. He was an avid hunter, especially of fox and coyote. He enjoyed training dogs to hunt fox, especially his dogs, Rip and Tear. Harry was also a member of the Bad Axe Moose Lodge No. 3000, the Ubly Community Club and the John Deere Two Cylinder Club. He was an usher at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. He was a polka dancer extraordinaire Harry enjoyed riding skidoos, gardening, watching and attending Tiger baseball games. Harry is survived by his wife, Agnes of Ubly; 7 Children: Faye Riehl of Texas, H. Jerry Osentoski and his wife Debra of Ubly, Tony Osentoski and his wife Elaine of Ubly, Gayle Lochrie and her husband Dennis of North Carolina, Larry Osentoski of Ubly, Gary Osentoski and his special friend, Amy of Colorado and Lynnae Osmulski and her husband Kevin of Washington State; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; his faithful companion Jake; two brothers: Bob Osentoski and his wife Pat of Wayland, Larry W. Osentoski of Bad Axe; one sister: Rita Juskusky of Milford; one brother-in-law: Bill Sopsich of Milford; two aunts: Minnie Cook and her husband Walter of Harbor Beach, Lucille Glowsinski of Bay City. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Glenn Osentoski, son-in-law: Bill Riehl, two sisters: his twin, Harriet Lamke and Marion Sopsich. Funeral service for Harry Osontoski will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the ZInger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 until the service time at 11:00 a.m. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
