Raymond Bernard Volmering

Mr. Raymond B. Volmering 64 of Ruth, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family under hospice care. Raymond was born on July 17, 1947 in Sherman Township to the late William and Anna Louise (Emming) Volmering. He married Carol Ann Roberts on August 3, 1968 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2007. He married Jacqueline Ann Schumacher on April 10, 2010 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He attended the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in Ruth. Ray was a lifelong parishioner at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He was a member of the Ruth Knights of Columbus Council No. 3823. He was employed at Midwest Rubber for 46 years. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, lawn care, gardening, bowling, card playing and watching the Detroit Tigers. Raymond is survived by his wife Jacqueline Volmering of Ruth; his children, Joseph (Katie) of Harbor Beach, Laurie (Matthew) Malone of Walled Lake, Tammy (Richard) Klosowski of Bay City, Thomas (Torri) of Ruth; step-children, Michelle (Gerard) Seidl of Croswell, Kathleen (Thomas) Hall of Livonia, Francine Schumacher (Robert Kinsella) of Bonita California, Stephanie Schumacher (Mohan Kartha) of Ypsilanti, Kimberly Schumacher (fiancé - Ronald Akers) of Canton Twp.; grandchildren, Alexander Krueger, Cameron Ferris, Liam Malone, Lucas Volmering and Benjamin Klosowski; step-grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Bombard, Brad Seidl, Eric Seidl, Kyle Seidl, Caleb Kartha, Nathan Kinsella, Jacob Hall, Makensie Kinsella, Dillon Hall, Alex Hall, Desmond Kartha, Katherine Kartha; his siblings, Jerome (Eileen) Volmering, Lorraine (Stanley) Peruski, Doris Roberts; his in-laws, Kenneth (Lauretta) Roberts, Dale (Brenda) Roberts, Douglas (DeDe) Roberts, Patrick (Elizabeth) Roberts, Barbara (Gerald) Sweeney, Delores (Richard) Kramer, Janice (Chris) Bolton, Mary Roberts, Dian Volmering; mother-in-law, Donna Messing. He was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Florence Roberts, one brother, Eugene Volmering, two brothers-in-law, Bernard Roberts and Daniel Roberts, one nephew, Paul Oswald. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Tuesday, February 28 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 2-9 pm and Tuesday from 9-10 am. There will be a Ruth Knights of Columbus rosary Monday evening at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Advantage Hospice or the Huron Medical Center Oncology Dept.
