Jeffery Jay Laba

Jeffery J. Laba, 52, lifelong resident of Bad Axe, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Covenant Cooper Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on September 23, 1958 in Bad Axe to the late Julius S. And Stella M. (Landenburg) Laba. Jeffery loved to drive his semi truck for work. He enjoyed planing cards, especially euchre and rummy. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Jessica Williams and her husband, William of Clifford, Jeffrey Laba and his wife, Tiffany of Bad Axe, Amanda Montley of Flint, Daniel Michalski of Wisc., Sara Laba of Bad Axe; 9 grandchildren; his siblings, Stella Pawloski and her husband, Dennis of Bad Axe, Alvin Laba and his wife, Brenda of El Paso, TX, Julia Boyce and her husband Steve of Canton, Tammy Laba of Midland. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 18 in Wilcox Park at the community building. Visitation with Jeffrey’s family will be at the park from 12 noon until the service at 1:00 pm. Care had been entrusted to the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.
