David “Danny” Thomas Affer Sr., 60 of Warren, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Harper Hospital in Detroit. He was born on November 25, 1950 in Detroit to the late Charles an Emma (Bingle) Affer. He married Linda Affer on May 29, 1968 in Detroit. David attended the Detroit Public Schools. He worked at City Car Releasing for 10 years as a mechanic. He was very proud to say he “lived in Detroit”. He truly loved working on his cars. He loved Elvis, fishing, shooting pool and spending quality time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. David is survived by two sons, David Affer Jr. of Roseville, Daniel “Timmy” Affer and his wife, Melissa of Roseville; two daughters, Jodie Armes and her husband, Tim, of Warren, Toni Affer of Roseville; one grandson, Anthony Burnham; four granddaughters, Samantha Burnham, Marisa Affer, Alexis Affer, Gianna Payton; one great grandson, Christopher Burhnam; one brother-in-law, Alex Wegner of Capac. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Ronald Affer, one sister, Carol Wegner, one sister-in-law, Patricia Affer. The funeral service will be on Thursday evening, September 1 at 7 pm at Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City. Pastor John Rapson will officiate. Burial will be in the Minden Township Cemetery in Minden City. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave in Minden City on Thursday from 12 noon until the service at 7 pm. Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
